Statement from Platinum Entertainment and David Spicer Productions Regarding We Will Rock You and ATV Live.
Platinum Entertainment has been proud to present four previous seasons of We Will Rock You in Perth since 2018 – which were pro-am, young@heart for under 18 year olds, and substantially professional at the Crown Theatre, Perth during the pandemic.
All have proceeded, as will our fifth season at the Regal Theatre in July.
Completely separate to our endeavours, ATV LIVE Entertainment, formerly known as Harvest Rain Theatre based in Brisbane, cancelled its proposed national arena tour which included a season in Perth.
All ticket-holders to those proposed performances are entitled to a full refund - this is to be handled by the ticketing agent, Ticketek Australia.
ATV Live has gone into liquidation with debts of 1.8 million dollars – at a time when it had nine different productions underway or planned, and a training school in full operation.
Platinum Entertainment and David Spicer Productions send their sympathies to all performers and crew and administrators who have been let down or harmed by the events which took place.
Amongst the creditors are families who had paid for a boot camp (training) and costume packages for the arena season of We Will Rock You.
We also run a children’s theatre company so we have a dedicated heart for inspiring young performers within the world of theatre and entertainment. It is important to us that your children continue to work hard and delight in all facets of theatre as it’s a brilliant way of finding yourself, and can offer a wonderful world of opportunity, enjoyment, and passion. As a small gesture of goodwill, Platinum Entertainment would like to offer a double pass* to any verified cast member of the cancelled ATV Live season who is on the list of creditors.
